Feminist Swearing Night Iceland

Do you ever feel like society isn’t exactly what it should be? Are you tired of certain aspects of it? Do you just feel like cursing and smashing the patriarchy?

This open-mic event offers an opportunity to sound off about patriarchy, politics, inequality and injustice. Participants are free to do this through sharing their personal stories, rhymes, songs, general rants or any other means of expression.

The night is moderated by the Icelandic and Finnish feminists who will also swear at the patriarchy.

Feminist Swearing Nights have been hugely popular in Brussels, Helsinki and Dublin. The concept was originally created by the Finnish Feminist think tank Hattu and we are thrilled to have the founders visit us in Iceland. The event is an off-venue event at Reykjavik Pride.

Guests may swear in English, Finnish or Icelandic.

The event is free of charge and open to all feminists but we will be collecting money to donate to Intersex Iceland – so bring a little bit of cash. Loft Hostel is accessible for people of all abilities.
