The opening act of Reykjavik Pride!
Painting a rainbow is a Reykjavik Pride tradition which marks the formal start of the six day rainbow festival. This year’s location will be announced here on 7 August.
The last four years three beautiful places in downtown Reykjavik have been dressed up in the rainbow. The locations so far are:
- 2015: Skólavörðustígur street
- 2016: The stairs leading to Reykjavik College (Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík)
- 2017: The entrace of Reykjavik City Hall
- 2018: Skólavörðustígur street
Some paintbrushes will be available for interested volunteers but it is recommended that you bring your own. The event is organised in cooperation with Reykjavík City’s “Meanwhile projects”.
