Our fight – then and now

The formal fight for queer rights in Iceland has lasted for 40 years now, since our national queer organization Samtökin ‘78 was founded. At this event advocates and activists from now and then will discuss the the battle through the years. How did all of this begin, what was fought for in the beginning and which victories were considered to be unachievable? Is today‘s battle somehow similar to the battle 40 years ago and what are the most important matters to fight for today? Our experts in the panel will discuss these matters as well as answering questions from the audience and leading discussions.

Event in Icelandic.
