Sunna Axels appointed operations manager of Reykjavík Pride

A new operations manager of Reykjavík Pride, Sunna Axels, has been hired. Sunna has a master’s degree in project management and has focused on carrying out projects in the fields of culture, art and non-profit organizations. Among other things, he has worked as a producer at RIFF, project manager at the Icelandic art biennial Sequences, Universal Thirst and Source Material.

Sunna also has a BA in Japanese language and culture and has worked independently as a DJ and artist over the years under the name SAKANA. She has also placed special emphasis on creating awareness on behalf of socially marginalized groups, including queer people, with the podcast Smá Pláss by RÚV and with the establishment and operation of FLÆÐI art space. It will be exciting to see the focus that Sunna will place in her work, and we welcome the new operations manager to work.

Sunna takes over from Inga Auðbjörga K. Straumland, who has worked for Reykjavík Pride since 2022, first as a project manager and later as a executive director. Inga is now moving on to other job opportunities and the board of Reykjavík Pride thanks her very much for her energetic and hard work.
