Leading British LGBT+ artist Jez Dolan brings his work “Wolfenden”, commissioned by the Houses of Parliament, to Reykjavik to celebrate Pride and supported by the British Embassy in Reykjavík. The work will be presented in the foyer of the National Art Gallery where the artist will be discussing his work on hidden archives, secret histories and Polari. The work features in the British Museum’s forthcoming “Desire, Love, Identiy: exploring LGBTQ histories” exhibition and will soon undertake a tour of four British museums.
The piece will be in the foyer of the National Art Gallery for the duration of Pride from the 7. – 12. of august with a special event on the 7th of August at 17.30 were the British Embassy is hosting an event where the artist will be talking about his work and inviting Pride audience to share their stories. On Saturday the 11th of August Jez will be hosting a coffee morning in the Cafe of the National Art Gallery inviting people to share their stories, especially any connections with the UK.
