Painting a rainbow is a Reykjavik Pride tradition which marks the formal start of the six day rainbow festival. This year we will paint Klapparstígur between Laugavegur and Grettisgata.
The last four years three beautiful places in downtown Reykjavik have been dressed up in the rainbow. The locations so far are:
- 2015: Skólavörðustígur street
- 2016: The stairs leading to Reykjavik College (Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík)
- 2017: The entrace of Reykjavik City Hall
- 2018: Skólavörðustígur street
Some paintbrushes will be available for interested volunteers but it is recommended that you bring your own. The event is organised in cooperation with Reykjavík City’s “Meanwhile projects”.
