Pride should be for everyone, regardless of age, identity, expression or other factors. Most would agree that one of the demographic groups that are most affected by the backlash and susceptible to harassment and online bullying, are our young queer siblings. It’s therefore been a clear objective for Reykjavik Pride to make sure that these amazing young people feel a sense of ownership over our festival, a sense of belonging and the feeling of acceptance. For the second year in a row, we offer a specific Youth Pride, which is a youth led initiative, organised by our Reykjavik Pride Youth Council. The programme includes events such as a baking competition, handicrafts, movie night, BBQ and concert.
