Accessibility at events

Most events during Reykjavík Pride take place at the Pride Centre, but there are also events happening at various locations around the city. Accessibility at OFF-VENUE events is not the responsibility of Reykjavík Pride.

Hljómskálagarður Park

Restrooms are marked with white “WC” signs. Toilets marked in pink are reserved for performers and festival staff. A rainbow flag on the festival grounds marks the accessible viewing platform for wheelchair users.

The Reykjavík Pride outdoor festival takes place in Hljómskálagarður Park. There will be a designated wheelchair viewing platform, marked with a rainbow flag as well as the European Union flag. This platform is provided in collaboration with the EU Delegation to Iceland and other embassies. Free earplugs will be available at the accessible viewing area. Accessible toilets will be located by the stage (northwest of Þorfinnstjörn) and at the entrance to the park across from Bragagata (see map)

The viewing platform is elevated and offers a good view of the stage.
It is located close to a walking path and an accessible restroom.

The Pride Parade

Parking for participants with disabilities will be available by Hallgrímskirkja. Vehicles with a disability parking permit (P-card) will be allowed through the staffed roadblock at the intersection of Barónsstígur and Eiríksgata.

This year, a sensory-friendly bus will be offered, with a focus on reducing noise and light stimulation. You can register here, and more detailed information will be sent via email before the parade.
