This year’s PRIDE CENTRE will be located at IÐNÓ, Vonarstræti 3, by Tjörnin.
Wheelchair Accessibility: The main entrance at IÐNÓ is wide enough for most types of wheelchairs. Please note that there is a button to open the main door, but it can be stiff and the door itself is heavy. The building has two floors. There is an elevator to the upper floor, and it’s powerful enough for most types of wheelchairs (more details in the video). An accessible restroom is located on the ground floor. Unfortunately, there is no access for larger wheelchairs, but a fully accessible restroom for all wheelchair types is available at Reykjavík City Hall.
General opening hours at Reykjavík City Hall:
Weekdays: 8:00AM – 6:00 PM
Saturdays: 10:00AM – 6:00 PM
Sundays: 12:00PM – 6:00 PM
Acoustics: The acoustics in IÐNÓ are excellent in the main hall and good in Sunnusalur. In the common areas of IÐNÓ the acoustics are not ideal – there is a lot of ambient noise and chatter when the space is crowded. Those who use hearing aids can use them without difficulty. When IÐNÓ is busy, sensory input can be quite intense, especially in Sunnusalur and near the entrance. However, the main hall is spacious enough for sound to disperse well, so sensory overload typically only occurs during very large events. Free earplugs will be available at the Hinsegin Kaupfélag (Queer Co-op) during the festival.
Restroom: All restrooms will be gender-neutral during the festival.
Parking: The nearest marked parking spaces are on Lækjargata by Tjarnarskóli and at Krikjutorg by Templarasund. There are also accessible (disabled) parking spots on Tjarnargata and at Reykjavík City Hall.
