The Reykjavík Pride Culture Fund

The Culture Fund is intended to support and strengthen the cultural landscape of queer people throughout the year. The aim of the fund is to provide grants for a variety of events that do not take place during Pride itself, in order to create visibility, platforms, and community year-round, and to support other queer festivals.

With this, Pride aims to strengthen connections within the queer community, create more opportunities for queer people to come together, and help ensure that queer culture remains vibrant and visible all year long.

✅Who can apply?

Anyone organizing queer events outside of Reykjavík Pride can apply for funding – individuals, groups, artists, and organizations.

Rental of venues and equipment
Production costs (e.g. sound systems, printing)
Promotional materials and advertising
Accessibility improvements or accessibility information

1. Skuldbinding styrkþega
Með því að taka á móti styrknum ábyrgist styrkþegi að styrknum verði einungis varið til verkefnisins og þeirra markmiða sem lýst er í umsókn. Jafnframt skuldbindur styrkþegi sig til að skila greinargerð og fjárhagsuppgjöri og hlýta öðrum skilmálum styrksins.

2. Upplýsingagjöf og skýrslur
Styrkþega er skylt að tilkynna stjórn Hinsegin daga ef upp koma aðstæður sem seinka verkefninu eða koma í veg fyrir að markmiðum eða skilyrðum fyrir styrkveitingu sé fullnægt.

Styrknum er greitt út í tvennu lagi, 50% af styrknum fæst greiddur um leið og umsókn er samþykkt og 50% af styrknum eftir að styrkþegi skilar inn greinargerð um verkefnið og fjárhagsuppgjöri. Styrkþegi hefur til þess 60 daga frá því að viðburði lýkur.

Styrkþegi ábyrgist að varðveita öll gögn verkefnisins, þ.m.t. bókhaldsgögn, í a.m.k. sjö ár og hafa þau tiltæk óski Ríkisendurskoðun eftir því að skoða þau.

3. Styrktaraðili nefndur í kynningarefni
Á öllum útgefnum auglýsingum sem tengist hinu styrkta verkefni skal koma fram að það er styrkt af Hinsegin dögum.

4. Endurkröfuréttur Hinsegin daga
Ef styrknum eða hluta hans er varið í annað en tilgreint er í umsókn eða skilmálar skv. lið 2 og 3 ekki uppfylltir, teljast forsendur styrkveitingar brostnar. Hinsegin dagar áskilur sér þá rétt til að ógilda styrkveitinguna og krefja styrkþega um endurgreiðslu á greiddum styrk, að hluta til eða í heild sinni, ásamt kostnaði við innheimtu.

Hinsegin dagar áskilur sér þann rétt að draga styrkveitinguna til baka komi það í ljós að styrkþegi eða verkefnið aðhyllist ekki gildum og sýn Hinsegin daga.

5. Ágreiningur
Ágreiningi milli styrkþega og Hinsegin daga sem þessum aðilum tekst ekki að leysa skal vísað til Héraðsdóms Reykjavíkur.

1. Grantee Commitment
By accepting the grant, the grantee guarantees that it will only be used for the project and the objectives described in the application. The grantee also undertakes to submit a report and financial statements and to comply with other terms and condition of the grant.

2. Disclosure and Reports
The grantee is obliged to notify the board of Reykjavík Pride if circumstances arise that delay the project or prevent the objectives or conditions of the grant from being fulfilled.

The grant is paid in two installments: 50% upon approval of the application and 50% upon submission of a project report and financial statements. The grantee has 60 days from the end of the event to submit these documents.

The grantee guarantees to retain all project data, including accounting records, for at least seven years and to make them available if the National Audit Office requests access.

3. Acknowledgement in Promotional Materials
All published advertisements must state that the project is funded by Reykjavík Pride.

4. Reykjavík Pride’s Right of Recourse
If the grant, or any part of it, is used for purposes other than those specified in the application, or if the conditions set out in points 2 and 3 are not met, the terms of the grant shall be considered violated. Reykjavík Pride reserves the right to revoke the grant and require the grantee to repay the funds disbursed, in part or in full, including any collection costs.

Reykjavík Pride reserves the right to withdraw the grant if it becomes apparent that the grantee or the projects does not align with the values and vision of Reykjavík Pride.

5. Disputes
Any disputes between the grantee and Reykjavík Pride that cannot be resolved by the parties shall be referred to the Reykjavík District Court.
